Glossary of "Evolution (4th ed.)" by Futuyma & Kirkpatrick (2017)
- The lack of correlation between the DNA content of eukaryotic genomes and a given organism's phenotypic complexity (i.e., the genome of a less complex eukaryotic organism, such as a plant, may contain far more DNA than that of a more complex organism, such as a human). The paradox is explained by the amount of noncoding DNA sequences in a genome.
