- A consensus tree formed from those components that occur in at least 50% of a set of fundamental cladograms. The 'majority rule' can also be set to any value greater than 50%.
Glossary of Plant Systematics (1st ed.) by Simpson (2006)
- A consensus tree in which only those clades that are retained 50% or more of the time are retained (i.e. not collapsed to a polytomy).
