- In regulatory system, information that amplifies a regulatory response, increasing the deviation of the system from the set point. (Contrast with negative feedback.)
Glossary of "Environmental Science: Earth as a Living Planet (2nd ed.)" by Botkin & Keller (1998)
- A type of feedback that occurs when an increase in output leads to a further increase in output. This is sometimes known as a vicious cycle, since the more you have the more you get.
