Glossary of "Cladistics (2nd ed.)" by Kitching et al. (1998)

• A dataset that contains at least one phylogenetically informative character. Decisive data yield cladograms that differ in length among themselves and thus offer reasons for choosing some cladograms in preference to others. Cf. undecisive data.
