- A method for fluorescence in situ hybridization (see FISH) that utilizes probes from DNA libraries of flow-sorted chromosomes to search for DNA sequence homologies of whole or partial chromosomes. CISS is used to identify homeologous chromosomes in different species or in hybrids (see Chapter 5).
