- the behavioral actions of organisms (typically animals) in choosing the areas in which they live and breed.
Glossary of "Evolution (4th ed.)" by Futuyma & Kirkpatrick (2017)
- The capacity of an organism (usually an animal) to choose a habitat in which to perform its activities. Habitat selection is not a form of natural selection.
